Third Party Driver Assessment

(pursuant to s.203 of the Highway Traffic Act)

Reason for Assessment

Each physician is required by law to report to the Ministry of Transportation any individual whose driving skills may be affected as a result of an illness or injury. Therefore, the client's driver's licence may be placed under medical suspension. If this occurs, the client will be asked to undergo a driving evaluation.

Individuals with disabilities related to physical, cognitive or perceptual function that hold valid driver's licences are also encouraged to undergo an evaluation of driving skills. The evaluation is designed to assess each client's ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and provide recommendations as needed.
